It’s fair to say that since my mammoth half-marathon attempt back in February in Brighton I’ve taken my foot off the gas with my running regime, just a little anyway… Instead of intensively sticking rigidly to my every-other-day-run combined with a longer run at the weekend, currently it’s a 5k here and there whenever I feel like it… It’s not so good for the soul. However, in October I have signed up for the Great South Run in Portsmouth, which is an annual 10-mile running race where I’m hoping to experience the iconic sights of the South coast.
To kick start that all important confidence and to ensure I have all the necessary stuff to get me in the right frame of mind, there was no better way but to invest in some new running kit – if you look good on the outside you feel good on the inside, right? This definitely resonates with me! Yes yes, I know it’s my job but personally I also know the positive effects of how this can make you feel, as I live by this and design my wardrobe accordingly.
When premium sportswear brand Sundried got in touch and offered to send me some items from their womenswear capsule collection, I jumped at the chance to review them! As a loyal and avid fan of the usual suspects Sweaty Betty, Lulu Lemon, Lucas Hugh and good old Nike, I felt like it was a good time to give something else a chance to be tried and tested with true purpose with my forthcoming 10-miler in mind.
Sundried is a premium ethical activewear brand for men and women with a heritage in triathlon and outdoor pursuits. Their clothing is hand made with premium fabrics and materials – they also boast a host of designers who have designed for the world’s best activewear brands so their credibility really rings true.
When I first unwrapped the Sundried Ruinette Tights and felt the fabric they were incredibly soft and smooth to touch, they were utterly gorgeous to wear! I also really loved the thickness of the fabric and drawstring waist too for a fabulous fit – it’s clear the clothing has been designed to be a cut above the rest, with a streamlined fit to create a smooth, aerodynamic silhouette and four way stretch fabric for complete freedom of movement. The tights are just divine and feel luxurious to wear, I would even incorporate them into my off duty wardrobe or travel itinerary for pure comfort. Literally, my first run in them felt like an absolute breeze!
Next the Sundried Tour White Tank also felt amazing to wear. Style definitely meets mobility with this little number; it combines a sexy mesh racer back and unique cut outs engineered to provide the ultimate ventilation. Crafted from sweat wicking, quick drying and supportive fabric definitely makes this tank fit for the job.
On a practical level I have washed both items a number of times and they still look and feel like new. Finally, aside from its luxe appeal, I like that this premium activewear brand is mindful of the environment and people in their supply chain every step of the way. For me it’s reassuring to know that the Sundried fabrics and materials are responsibly sourced and as a feel good factor they give 5% of our revenues to charity, currently Water for Kids, in a way that engages their customers. For sport lovers, what’s not to love or at least try?
Finally, if you really feel compelled to help the cause, there is an opportunity to invest in Sundried. Their crowdfunding pitch is now live! Check out more details here.
